Frequently Asked Questions
Parking must be booked in advance, a Main Car Park ticket or Park & Ride ticket are needed to gain entry to car parks on the night so please check your tickets in advance to avoid being turned away.
There are 2 parking locations:
Main car park at Stewart Park - these tickets were available to select when booking and a ticket would have been emailed along with your entry tickets - print it and display in your windscreen - the car park is accessed via the main park entrance on Ladgate Lane follow the link here
Park & Ride/Walk - If you booked a Park & Ride ticket (book 1 ticket per car) then you will need to park nearby at Middlesbrough Sports Village, Alan Peacock Way, TS4 3AE and you will be able to either walk to the entrance or use the minibus shuttle service which will be running all night
Disabled parking is available at Stewart Park car park for blue badge holders but spaces must be booked in advance email email@example.com
Please do not attempt to park on the local residential streets as they will be coned off and patrolled to keep them for residents only. We don't want to annoy the neighbours and would be grateful for your co-operation!
Stewart Park is about a 5 minute walk from Marton Train Station.
The Park is on a well serviced bus route with a stop at the entrance on Ladgate Lane

Additional Needs and Accessibility
Are there any issues to consider for people with disabilities gaining access to the event?
We are committed to ensuring that visitors with disabilities and additional needs are not prevented from enjoying Nightfall 2021 because of access needs.
The event does have elements of noise and smoke.
The pathways around the park are fully accessible for wheelchair users.

Designated disabled parking spaces are located within the main car park.
A complimentary essential companion ticket is available to those who need assistance from another person in order to move around safely around the event. Once you have booked your ticket please e-mail email@example.com to request your companion ticket and book a disabled car parking space if required.
Early Entry & Relaxed Sessions
Our relaxed session time slots are – 4.00-4.30pm. Perfect for anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed performance environment – including those with an autism spectrum condition or learning disability. Please get in touch if the time slot you want to book is sold out and we will help with your booking at firstname.lastname@example.org

• Changes to the sound and lighting levels along the trail so that the experience is more accessible if you have sensory sensitivities

EVENT SPECIFIC INFORMATION
When do I have to arrive for?
Attendees should arrive promptly for their timeslot – no more than 10 minutes early or 10 minutes late than their purchased time slot. Time slots are every 15minutes from 4.00pm – 9pm. Last entry is 9pm.
Is the event suitable for children?
Yes, this event is family friendly; however, an adult must accompany children under the age of 16.
Can I bring my dog?
NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED
There are flame and light effects and large numbers of people which make it unsuitable for even the best behaved dog. Assistance dogs will be accommodated.
What should I wear?
Nightfall 2021 is an outdoor event designed to go ahead in any weather, so please dress accordingly – we suggest lots of layers, scarves and gloves! Although the space is lit, there will be areas and moments during the show that are dark so sturdy footwear is also advisable.
How long does the experience last?
Nightfall 2021 will last approx 90mins depending on your dwell time – you are also welcome to go around the light trail again.
Can I use my camera?
Yes, but recording of images and filming for commercial reasons is strictly prohibited.
What if it is raining, windy or cold?
The event is designed to go ahead in all reasonable weather. We recommend that ticket-holders dress appropriately with warm clothing and suitable footwear.
If we do have to cancel the event due to extreme circumstances, ticket holders will be contacted via email supplied at point of booking and, announcements will be made via Facebook and Twitter as well as in local press. Please see refund/cancellation policy for further details.

Anything I should bring?
Just a sense of fun and adventure! If you want to bring your own torches and lanterns for along the trail then please do – especially if you are a bit scared of the dark!
Food & Drinks
Please note no alcohol is included with your ticket.
There will be food and drinks concessions available on site should you wish to use them
Alcohol will be available to buy on site by adults over the age of 18. If you are planning to buy alcohol please be aware that you may need to verify your age on request with evidence that you are over the age of 18 - valid ID must include a photograph, date of birth and holographic mark examples include: photo card driving license, passport, a proof of age card with the PASS hologram
Do I need a ticket for the event?
Yes, this event is limited capacity event and pre-ticketed. There will not be a ticket site at the event – you have to pre-purchase your ticket via www.nightfallfestival.co.uk
How many tickets can I book and group bookings?
You can book a total of 10 tickets in a single transaction when booking online if you would like to book for a larger number of tickets (e.g. 16), please complete your booking across two transactions.
The booking process is monitored and Stellar Projects reserve the right to cancel excessive overbooking. If you have a specifically large booking it is either recommended to book as individual or you can email email@example.com but again, group booking requests via email cannot be guaranteed due to the limited availability of tickets.
Do I need a ticket for my child/baby?
Yes – every single person on at Nightfall 2021 needs a ticket – no matter how small. Ages 2 and under go free – but need a ticket so please add an Under 2 FREE ticket when purchasing the rest of your groups’ tickets.
Do I need to print my ticket?
You can print your ticket off and show this as you enter Nightfall 2021 or you can show your ticket on your phone screen But you will need a ticket for entry.
I’ve booked my ticket online but have not received my confirmation email / e ticket.
On occasion some email accounts may bounce confirmation emails from unknown sources into your SPAM folder rather than allow them directly into your main inbox. If you have purchased your ticket online but not received your confirmation or your ticket within a few minutes please check your SPAM folder first of all.
If your ticket is not in your SPAM folder please email firstname.lastname@example.org with details of your booking (your name and email). We will resend your ticket within 48hours of receiving your enquiry (but usually much sooner).
Can I get tickets on the gate?
No – all tickets must be secured via www.nightfallfestival.co.uk
Can I return or exchange my ticket if I am unable to attend?
Tickets are non refundable and we can't transfer your booking to a different date or time so please select your tickets carefully when purchasing - please see ticket policy for details. In most cases, if you are no longer able to attend, then ticket exchanges are at your own discretion. In particular circumstances we may be able to assist, email email@example.com with details of your booking (your name and email).
You can book with confidence for Nightfall. Come along knowing that the safety and wellbeing of our visitors and staff is of the utmost importance to us and we will continue to monitor and respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic situation as it evolves.
Current plans in place for the comfort and reassurance of our visitors include:

Reducing the number of tickets available at each time slot for your greater safety and comfort
In the unlikely event that we need to cancel, you can transfer your ticket to the following year, or get a refund.
Will there be strobe lighting?
There may be lighting sequences created within the design of some of the art features that will have some flashing lights contained within them. However, there will be no strobe lighting.
Toilets (including accessible toilets) are available during the event and are located in the main car park, Captain Cook Museum and the Courtyard area at the end of the trail.

What is Nightfall 2021 – A Stellar Rainbow?
Nightfall is a self-guided trail of beautiful, colourful light artworks, performance and activity on 2-5 December 4.00pm – 11pm (last entry 9pm) at Stewart Park, Ladgate Lane, Middlesbrough. A Stellar Rainbow is a self-guided colourful hope themed light installation trail of beautiful artworks complemented with music, performance, storytelling with hot chocolates in hand!

When is Nightfall 2021?
Nightfall is on 2-5 December, 4.00pm – 11pm. This event is pre-ticketed and entry is staggered into 15 minute slots. You are advised to arrive promptly for your entry slot. Last entry slot is 9pm each night.

Family/group of 4 ticket £28
Every single person as part of your party including babies require a ticket so we can monitor numbers at the event.
There are a select number of specific special ticket allocations not available for general sale – these cover volunteers, Nightfall 2021 participants, press and event partners.
