Welcome Nightfallers and congratulations on reaching the end of the rainbow!

For those of you who made it to Nightfall at Stewart Park, we hope you enjoyed your visit. It was a magical experience, and we are so glad we were able to share our love of light and colour with so many people! We chose a rainbow theme this year, to bring a little colour into your lives and to bring everyone together again.

We have put together a collection of activities and short films to bring the Nightfall experience to you at home and keep the happy rainbow feeling alive! This programme has been created for a family audience and we have tried to make sure that there is something to appeal to children of all ages.

If you missed the wonderful performances at Nightfall from Whippet Up, Ian and Jo Douglas and Fully Booked Theatre, you can catch up with them here in the comfort of your own home. We have also included Ayla’s Dream, a magical suitcase puppet theatre show created specially for us by Eye of Newt. And if that wasn’t enough, there are craft activities to get stuck into including making your own diorama and colouring in.

For this year’s Nightfall we also commissioned four local writers to create work based on the rainbow theme which inspired artworks around the trail. As part of Nightfall online, we are sharing the poems and stories written by Lisette Auton, Kirsten Luckins, Carmen Marcus and Mark Robinson. The pieces are full of colours and light – but also enjoy the dark from which those colours burst. There are things lost and things found, dreams and journeys, transformations and holding onto the people we love.

We hope you enjoy the programme - make sure you share any photos from your Nightfall experience and your wonderful creations from the making activities with the #Nightfall21

In the meantime, we are busy planning next year’s Nightfall, creating another magical event amongst the stars. See you next year!
